For video game enthusiasts, several national e-sports tournaments are being organized, including online qualification phases to reach a large audience across the country, followed by an offline grand final to be held at the Morocco Gaming Expo in Rabat from May 24 to 26, 2024.
The games selected for the esports tournaments are as follows:
– League of Legends as an exclusive PC game with a prize pool of 150,000 DH.
– PUBG Mobile, an exclusive mobile game with a prize pool of 160,000 DH. – EA FC 24, the only console game, with a prize pool of 80,000 DH.
All three games can be accessed on different platforms, namely PC, mobile, and console. They enjoy great popularity in Morocco on their respective platforms, with EA FC on console, League of Legends on PC as a MOBA-like game, and PUBG Mobile on mobile.
Each game will feature two separate qualifying sessions, each with its own entry period. The first registration period will open on April 27, 2024 and close on May 3, 2024. On the other hand, the second qualifying session will also start on April 27, 2024 but will extend until May 10, 2024. This organization aims to provide maximum opportunity for participants who would have missed the first registration period.
The grand final will welcome the finalists of the three games, with a distribution guaranteeing the balance between each game as well as taking into account the technical constraints. The most important matches will be streamed.
